Marieke de Bruijn started her carreer in VUmc in March 2008. She is a research coordinator on the project “Prediction of Radiation-induced Swallowing Dysfunction after Curative (Chemo)Radation for Head and Neck Cancer”, aiming to predict swallowing complaints after (chemo)radiation, and to improve radiation techniques to prevent swallowing problems as much as possible.
Furthermore, she is working on a PhD project on objective assessment of speech quality in patients treated for head and neck cancer. She expects to finish her PhD dissertation in 2012.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2006) and a Master of Arts degree in Applied Linguistics from Utrecht University (2008).
