Dr. Heleen Melissant
The focus of the thesis of Heleen Melissant was about body image and sexuality in head and neck cancer patients. She investigated how these symptoms could be identified and how they develop over time. She also examines interventions that can improve body image and sexuality. Next to this, she was project coordinator for Oncokompas from 2013-2017. She was working on the development and optimization of Oncokompas, as well as keeping Oncokompas up to date. She also developed and evaluated a tumor specific module for breast cancer patients. In 2019 she worked in VUmc as a coordinator for Net-Qubic.
Heleen finished her bachelor Psychology and her master Health Psychology and Technology at the University of Twente.
Heleen defended her PhD thesis on January 18, 2021.
