Dr. Anouk Schuit
After completing her bachelor’s degree in Medical Informatics and her Master Beleid, Communicatie en Organisatie at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Anouk started in May 2016 Anouk her PhD research at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. In her PhD-project the self-management application Oncokompas was expanded to make the application suitable for patients with incurable cancer and their partners, to support them in finding optimal supportive care, adjusted to their personal well-being and preferences.
Also two randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were conducted to determine the efficacy of Oncokompas on patient activation, caregiver burden, quality of life, and costs. Cost-utility analyses were also performed to gain insight into the costs compared with the difference in QALYs (quality-adjusted life years).
